Lesson 5: Finding Your Own Answers

Put on your detective cap!

Like detectives and the police have access to specific tools and knowledge to resolve as many crimes as possible, Healfi's aim is to give you as many tools and as much knowledge as possible to make you an expert at resolving your own and eventually other people's health issues.

Most of all, the process should be fun and our aim is to help you see the thrilling side of resolving your health issues and not sweeping the problems under the carpet.

With the current economic crisis and the poor results of the medical industry, it is a dangerous bet to think that the "system" will take care of you in the future.

  • There might be no money left.
  • Even if there is, leaving the responsibility of your health to somebody else is too often a shortcut to the graveyard.

We sincerely hope that you will see the fun part of the detective work that will be needed for you to find out the causes of your health issues and get back to balance.

Answers to your questions

For many reasons, we would like to encourage you to find your own answers to all the questions that will inevitably arise during this course.

Learning to find your own answers will hopefully help you not only for health-related questions, but for all other questions in life.

Once you master the skill of finding your own answers, you will see that life gets VERY INTERESTING.

The first thing you need to realise, and this is especially true for health issues, is that nobody else can provide a perfect answer for you. They can give you suggestions and advice, but only you can know what the right answer is for you at this moment.

Let's take a concrete example: chocolate. Yummy! But is it good or bad for your health? You can probably find dozens of scientific studies telling you that chocolate is good for your health, and dozens telling you that chocolate is bad for your health. So what shall you believe? Get the point? Only you can decide if chocolate is good for you, or not.

So how do you find your personal answers?

First of all, we hope that the knowledge from this course will give you plenty of insights to how to find your own answers. Some questions you used to ask yourself should not be relevant any longer. Second, there are various methods that you can use for ANY question that you have:

For example, you can state a question often with the expectation that sooner or later you will get an answer.

These are the kind of insights that you will get in the shower, during your daily walk, or at any unexpected moment. So try and keep a small notebook at hand to write down your insights straight away.

Quantum physics have at least partially been able to explain how this phenomenon works: we all have the (dormant) ability to tap into a kind of "Universal Consciousness" where most of our answers can be found. The scientific details about how this works go beyond the scope of this course.

Sometimes the answer will come as an insight out of the blue, sometimes you will find a perfect answer in a book or on the Internet.

At other times you will only get leads or clues from other people, from books, from television, newspapers or the Internet. What you need to train is your ability to recognise these clues, follow your intuition and puzzle together the answer that you need.

The more you practice, the better you will get (heard that before?). With practice, you will also get better at asking your questions in a way that gives you quicker and more reliable answers.

Do not forget the importance of expecting an answer! But if you ask for example "How do I find a cure for Alzheimer?", even if you expect an answer, you might not get any because your subconscious will probably tell you: "Who do you think you are? What makes you think that you will be the one finding the answer to this?". The problem is that your question will most probably hit your limiting beliefs, so you better start with smaller steps:

"Where can I find somebody who can give me clues about what causes Alzheimer?" So state that question many times per day until you get an answer.

Then, depending on the kind of partial answers you get, you will be able to ask a new question that will hopefully lead you closer to the Big Answer you are looking for.

This is detective work at its finest! Have fun!

Learn how to boost your creativity to come up with your own answers:

Exercise

Write down 3 health-related and 3 other questions that you have. Your goal is to get an answer to all of these questions.

Start with the question that you think is the easiest and follow the procedure above.

P.S.: do not bang your head in the wall if you do not find an answer quickly. Just state your question(s) regularly and then relax, go back to your day-to-day business with the certainty that the answer you need will come sooner or later.

Exercise

Find another person doing this course as well (it could be a friend or somebody you find online) and share your respective questions. Maybe there are clues that you could give each other?

Also, share your questions with as many people as possible: you never know when they might bump into an answer for you... Similarly, you can be of great help to them if you find some answers to their questions.
