Lesson 4: Focus on Underlying Causes, Not Physical Symptoms


When somebody desires health, you need first to ask him if he is ready to get rid of the CAUSES of his disease.
~ Hippocrates (460-370 B.C.).

When they fall sick, most of the time people have no clue what the heaven is going on. "Why did I get sick? I ate an apple a day..." Yes, you did, but nobody taught you in school or at home how health REALLY works.

The strength of the Healfi approach is the fact that you use the same method for ANY health issue. An acquaintance stated then that "the cure to all diseases simply is to return to a healthy state" and thought that this is all a joke. No, it's called the power of simplicity. This is a health-focused approach, not a disease-focused one

So how do you return to a healthy state?

You do that by:

1. Identifying and
2. Tackling/removing the real underlying CAUSES that made you sick in the first place.


Let's use an analogy to help you better understand what this means:

Imagine that you have a minor accident and get hurt by a big needle, a small knife or any other sharp thing that remains stuck in your skin.
It hurts a lot and might even bleed. What do you do? Most people will REMOVE the cause of the pain (needle, knife...) as quickly as possible, clean and cover the wound.

Then the wound heals naturally within a few days or weeks.

The process should be EXACTLY the same for all other pains/diseases: you need to remove the real cause(s) and let Nature do the healing.

The problem is that too often, doctors leave the "knife" in the wound. Painkillers will work for a while, but as long as the "knife" remains there, it will hurt. They treat symptoms, not the underlying cause(s).

Of course, it is easier to identify the exact cause if it is a tangible knife, than if it is a missing goal in life, an unresolved family issue or electromagnetic radiations.


That is why healfi.com was created: to help people systematically identify the real cause(s) of any pain/disease.

And also to help people identify the "knives" before they start to hurt. You can see it as various woodpeckers sitting on you and pecking until the day it really hurts. Some of them will hurt you very quickly, and other will take a long time until you notice anything.

But they are there. Now you need to put on your detective cap, find out where the "knives" and other woodpeckers sit and get rid of them!


Another example: let's say that you suffer from chronic fatigue (tiredness).

The common reaction would be that if one is constantly tired, one needs to catch up on sleep and get more sleep every night. This might be right in one case out of ten.

But there might be other possible explanations. Maybe the tiredness comes from:

- Electromagnetic radiations?
- Heavy or processed foods?
- A lack of fresh air?
- Other people draining your energy?
- Stress?
- Clutter?
- A lack of exercise?

Or the tiredness could come from a combination of the above. Or even something else. Most of the possible causes are mentioned on healfi.com, so put on your detective cap and go through your own life to see what could cause your tiredness.

Now, one more thing: look at the list of possible explanations above: do you honestly think that you will get rid of the problem with a magical pill?
Most of the time it will be enough to remove the cause of the problem. Then be so kind and do not interfere with Nature's healing process.

One of the most important things of this course is that you need to reprogram your way of looking at diseases. Forget about the physical symptoms and try and figure out what the real underlying causes for the health issue is.

In French, the word "maladie" (disease) intends that "le mal a dit" which means "the pain said". Your job is to find out what the pain tries to tell you.

Below are some more examples, to give you an idea where the possible causes could be. Of course, you could also have a combination of reasons, and the same symptom can have totally different causes from one person to another.

- Depression --> no goal in life?
- Stress --> not helping others?
- Headache --> not drinking enough water?
- Poor vision --> bad nutrition?
- Back pain --> frustration at work?
- Irritability --> lack of contact with nature?
- Workaholism --> family issues?
- Often sick --> negative thinking?
- Financial stress --> limiting beliefs?
- Paleness --> lack of fresh air and sun?
- Infertility --> electromagnetic radiations?
- Upset stomach --> unresolved family issues?

We would like to show you another more complex example that gives you an idea of the mental training that you will need in order to master health perfectly. Just reading through the course once will most probably not be sufficient.

Vision problems (myopia, etc.):

This is a good example as almost one person out of two in the Western world can relate to it. This problem has obviously exploded since the appearance of computers. But there are other causes as well and most of people wearing glasses or contact lenses have a combination of the following:

- bad nutrition
- not enough time spent in nature
- muscular tensions preventing blood from circulating properly to the brain and the eyes
- heavy metals in your teeth
- eyes do not move enough (too long in front of books or computer)
- introvert / lack of social life
- lack of self-confidence (due to poor finances, lack of sexual knowledge, etc.)
- negative "vision" of oneself
- other psychological factors

Not only do you need to get rid of the "knives" that apply to you, but obviously you also need to take off your glasses/contact lenses to let Nature do its work.
This example also shows that you need to look beyond the physical causes, and have a more holistic approach looking at the emotional, mental and spiritual issues as well.

Try and find out the real underlying causes of some of your own health issues (even minor ones), or from somebody that you know well.

And yes, you need to be extremely honest with yourself as you do this exercise. Don't worry if you do not find the causes of somebody else's issues, even if you know them well. Everybody is one's own best doctor.
